Scintillation Crystals

Scintillation crystals are single-crystalline scintillator materials and are the most widely used scintillator materials. They can absorb the energy of invisible rays or particles and emit pulsed light, and then use photoelectric conversion devices to convert the light signals into electrical signals, so as to realize the accurate measurement of the energy, momentum, direction and time of these invisible high-energy rays or particles. They have a very wide range of applications in fields closely related to the national economy and people's livelihood, such as high-energy physics, nuclear physics, astrophysics, safety inspection, medical imaging, industrial flaw detection, environmental monitoring, resource and energy exploration and so on. Currently, scintillation crystals mainly include BGO, Ce:YAG, Ce:YAP, CdWO4, etc.
